Before 1970 a black student would not raise his hand against a black teacher. If he did the beating would have been in his direction and not the teachers. At least that was how it was in the part of Louisiana I was raised. Same went for a white student as well. Before 1970, hooligans in schools were tough-loved into being somewhat respectable by the time they graduated. If not, the Juvenile courts gave them the choice of going to Angola (the La State Prison) or letting Uncle Sam teach them discipline. Yet, seeing how woke the military has become, either choice may be bad.
