Mid City Rocked By Second Targeted Killing In A Few Days
Earlier in the week, a mother was murdered in her car on Orleans Avenue with her toddler in the backseat; last night, a waiter at Mandina's was gunned down outside the packed restaurant
Lest visitors to the war zone called “New Orleans” need any reminders, this past week has further exposed the violence that grips this town, as true sociopaths wreck civility yet again, sociopaths that testify to the long term consequences of Democrat Party policies that destroy the traditional family, remove fathers from the home, and leave children the victims of a subculture of violence and death.
Freakishly, the people of New Orleans continue to vote for the policies and politicians who promise one thing but deliver another.
Only very deep reforms in public assistance will change this, and even then the change will be resisted, will take time and will likely be less-impactful than we’d all prefer. Still, things have to begin somewhere.
Do not hold your breath.
I read Truman Capote’s “In Cold Blood” while in college, and I remember Capote’s fascination that equally-evil people can discover and run upon one another, that after meeting they come to agreement on a murderous plan, and carry it out, together. One insane person Capote could understand, but many of them? He wrote the book in his effort to display the insanity of groups of murderers. He’d have a wealth of subject matter if he were to write “In Cold Blood” in New Orleans today.
Indeed, each of the murders this week was carried out by multiple shooters - likely retribution killings, both.
