It’s been a minute since we looked in on every Marxist’s favorite Louisiana Public Service Commissioner, “The Commish” himself, Davante Lewis.
What’s our guy been up to lately?
Davante attended the Bayou Classic, which is no surprise, though he attended McNeese. He’s treated like a hero by the Democrat Party, so tickets to special events come Davante’s way. The real surprise here is finding LaToya Cantrell in the city and not flying first class overseas to a plastics conference.
We’re thinking that the $1.265 million that “I’ve awarded” to Southern bought some friends for Davante on that campus, and that other HBCUs are hoping for their chance to benefit from the slush funds available to PSC commissioners. Davante is a good guy to have on speed dial.
Why do PSC commissioners have slush funds to dole out, though?
Doctor Lewis is “in”

We’re not sure of the backstory here, but the reality is that out-of-state contributions far exceeded in-state money given to Davante’s campaign, where he spent about ten times the amount ordinarily spent on a PSC race. Davante received 50,001 votes, spending about $2MM to get them: $40 per ultimate vote.
This tweet is just weird… the puppet strings and, really Davante… you haven’t “created jobs” in your entire life. You’ve never owned a business and signed paychecks; you’ve become a professional politician who spends other people’s money.
Notice, too, that the tweet was liked by Dustin Granger, the failed Democrat candidate for state treasurer. He and “The Commish” are pals…
Davante has been chatting with officials from the Biden Administration… Energy Secretary Granholm has visited Louisiana recently and Davante boasted about meeting her, and here’s Davante with Janet Yellen…

When you hear leftists preach “inclusion” don’t believe a word of it. Here, he put out a call to artists that will catch your attention for, you know, all of its “inclusion”…
I couldn’t help but respond to Mr Lewis’ “inclusiveness”…

I’m frequently accused of having an “obsession” with Davante Lewis, and I admit that I do, in the sense that every citizen should be fully aware that one of only five people who regulate the state’s power industry is a partisan hack Marxist whose policy priorities will cripple this state, wreck our economy, and create blackouts.
While my criticisms of him are entirely valid, there’s just no denying that he’s a product of all the social ills that have afflicted the people of his generation. But he knows how to push the political buttons and pull the partisan levers and “the people” are stuck with him for 5 more years on the PSC and what will certainly be a run for the governor’s mansion at some point in his future.
