Friends of The BEC…
I’d like to express my appreciation to you as I’ve been away and dealing with an all-encompassing issue. Thank you for your patience.
As a way to get a bit caught up, I’ll toss out some active items in no particular order…
The Louisiana Public Service Commission
The PSC held its monthly meeting Wednesday after taking off the month of July. Quite a long meeting, evidently, and I’ll be going through it over the weekend. You’ll be the first to know if there were nuggets of Marxist/Fascist tomfoolery. At quick glance I’m confirmed of one truth: Foster Campbell always seems unaware of what’s going on around him. Mike Francis, running for Secretary of State, was absent from the meeting.
At the 42 minute mark Davante gets in his dig for when Eric Skrmetta (quite accurately) informed the state GOP that the Left controls the PSC and that a “Communist/Socialist” sits on the panel. We can only imagine how anxious and eager Davante has been to get this off his chest. We wrote about Mr Skrmetta speaking to the GOP HERE. Of course, Davante positions himself as a better person who would never do such a thing!
Commissioner Skrmetta has NOT answered our emailed questions, by the way. Perhaps some of you might email him the questions and find out if it’s just me - or just him?
Eric.Skrmetta@LA.gov
Davante did participate in last weekend’s Red Dress Run, global warming notwithstanding.
The PSC must be restructured. Their monthly clown show hardly inspires confidence that they are deserving of the power they possess over your access to electricity. It’s a 103 year old independent institution badly in need of a reworking, however, I suggest its complete elimination; farm out its few legitimate jobs to other departments.
I did warn many officials and candidates for office at the “Meet The Candidates” event Wednesday night. I asked Senator Sharon Hewitt if she would reconsider the structure of the PSC if she were elected governor, but she discussed her position on energy instead of saying anything much about the Public Service Commission. It was a cop-out answer, but I still respect Sharon Hewitt tremendously. So, I get it.
I feel like a lone voice in the wilderness shouting out the warning that we all must hear. Mark my words, friends: I will see it through, even if it takes years of effort (and it will) to restructure the PSC in our state.
The Meet the Candidates Event
All credit to Jeff Crouere and Mike Weinberger of the Home Defense Foundation. About 20 state and local candidates pitched themselves and I have to tell you: we truly have a fine group of people running for office on the conservative side. Every candidate brought passion, intelligence, and integrity and making a choice in the voting booth will be tough.
Here’s a good look at the three running for state treasurer… notice how Dustin Granger, Democrat, has little else to say than “Trickle Down” and “Invest in people.”
Scott McKnight and Dr. John Fleming both represented themselves mighty well…
Progressivism is Fascism
It’s increasingly obvious - though one need look at only the Saint George Floyd Riots of summer 2020 for confirmation of this - that the Democrat Party, particularly its “Progressive wing” (though that is all Democrats now) is the party of Fascism in America. For all their hair-on-fire raging about “white supremacist terrorism” and the like, it is they who pose the greatest threat to not only our country but to Western Civilization in toto.
I’ll turn to two online thinkers to make my point.
Progressivism is Fascism without Virtue
Most Americans think fascism became so evil because it advocated unlimited omnipotent government, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. But the left thinks nothing like this: they think the problem with fascism was that it was manly, and valued excellence. If only it had been effete and degenerate then the absolute power would have been like a universal loving mother looking after everyone. Not, you know, a consuming backbiting nationwide concentration camp like the communist regimes became.
The left accepts every single principle of fascism, indeed it is impossible to find a structural difference between progressivism and fascism in terms of the actual governing and economic system... they're both 3rd-way systems that claim to balance capitalism and communism by allowing private property, but allowing the government to regulate it totally (i.e. not real private property), have totalitarian taxing and policing structures that allow no privacy or security in personal documents or transactions, massive standing militaries, a central government paramilitary police force (the SS, the FBI) whose main job is to hunt down disloyal and ideological enemies, not least within the legacy decentralized governing institutions of the older republic, and a major emphasis on centralized control over the nature and content of public education such that no regions, sub-cultures, or ethnic subgroup can escape and propagate rivaled values. Every German school must allow the Hitler Youth to operate, and every American school must have desegregation, anal-inclusive sex ed, and drag queen story hour... there can be no regional variation. Saxony cannot experiment with anti-militaristic Montessori schools, just as Alabama can't experiment with mono-ethnic religious schooling, nor Maine with classical sex-segregated education.
The central government's values must be taught in every corner of the empire, in the manner of the central government's choosing... the only culture that may form and unify is the central government's culture. The only difference is which cultures and values they wish to force into the population through the god-like unlimited government... put simply Fascism valued health, family, excellence, distinction, aggression, daring, manliness, and ethnic fellow-feeling... whereas progressivism values sickness, hedonism, mediocrity, homogeneity, passivity, cowardice, effeminacy, and isolation.
Progressivism is simply a degenerate and anti-virtue variant of fascism... imposing sickness on the population in the name of "equity" i.e. reducing everyone to the quality of the lowest (How do you make a special ed child and Magnus Carlson equal chess players? Progressives can't even teach ordinary children, so you lobotomize Carlson.)
And if you point this out and advocate against the totalitarian system of governance Americans suffer under, Progressives will accuse you of Fascism! Because you aim to make people healthy and virtuous.
They can't comprehend the idea that government might not be God, or people might actually be free, or diverse people might actually meaningfully live differently in a decentralized world without homogeneity forced upon them... so, of course, the only things about fascism they oppose are the things it shared with the healthier civilizations that came before it: Snazzy outfits, an admiration of fitness, loyalty to family and group, manly virtue, punctuality (timetables are racist don't you know), organization, and competitive excellence...
The things they hate most about Fascism were not the brutality and the control (they'll demand totalitarian regulations and defend the genocides of communism with their dying breath) it's that the fascists were still only half poisoned with the totalitarian state and its sicknesses... it's that they still remembered Rome and Greece and believed in health and fitness.
Here’s an example from someone here in Louisiana, someone who would be considered “respectable” if she were not so loathsome: Melissa Flournoy.
What but a fascistic mind would write this about fellow Louisianans?
“The cruelty is the point… The meanness and the bigotry and you get… hypocrisy.”
“Brave Liberal” and “former Louisiana legislator” Melissa Flournoy
Another online thinker seals the deal about the Democrat Party as the Fascist Party:
Patriots, if you are unaware of the concept of "lawfare," please learn what it is.
The understanding of lawfare has long been confined to elite Democrat legal circles--but lawfare is fascism, and it is high time we expose it. Lawfare is basically the use of the legal system to achieve political goals by persecuting persons who dissent from the views of the lawfare practitioner. Justice is not the goal of lawfare -- persecution and silencing dissent is the goal.
In its rawest form, it's the idea that "the process is the punishment." Democrats see this as a perfectly moral and valid tool in their political toolbox. Lawfare is a practice common in fascist regimes -- i.e., the unjust application of law enforcement and courts to silence dissent.
Democrats LOVE lawfare. There is even a "LawfareBlog" website run by a prominent Harvard law professor who is a rabid Democrat (Jack Goldsmith.) Pretty much every prominent Democrat lawyer is a lawfare practitioner. These Democrat lawyers are not embarrassed by this, instead they are PROUD of it.
Lawfare is highly respected in the Democrat Party. Neal Katyal, the former Solicitor General under Obama, is highly respected in the ranks of Democrat legal practitioners and scholars, because he openly engages in lawfare. MSNBC legal correspondent Barb McQuade is a lawfare goon who spreads lawfare doctrine via her perch as a professor in the U. Michigan law school. Benjamin Wittes is another lawfare thug who James Comey (yet another lawfare practitioner) used to leak the various Trump-Russia collusion lies.
Democrats do not scorn these fascists--they ADMIRE THEM.
Prominent examples of lawfare victims include General Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Rudy Giuliaini, all of Donald Trump's lawyers and, of course, Donald Trump himself.
Republicans generally refuse to engage in lawfare because they see how loathsome it is. The law is supposed to be about equal justice, and not a vehicle for achieving totalitarian power.
Lawfare is fascism. The practitioners of lawfare are fascists.
These Democrat lawfare practitioners are smug and think they are above reproach -- we all need to start labeling them for what they are: FASCISTS who should not be tolerated in decent society.
To cleanse your soul a bit after reading about fascists in our midst, I offer you Oliver Anthony:
But speaking of Fascists in our midst, this is the reaction to Oliver Anthony by the Louisiana “Teacher of the Year" Chris Dier, now teaching at Ben Franklin High School…
We’ve written about Mr Dier…
The Fascists are in full control of the schools and our national institutions, without doubt.
I do expect to be back to regular posting in a matter of days…
