You're A Twitter Goofball Who Nearly Failed High School Biology - Dr. Mark Kline
Written not in jest by Kline, far from it...
Mark W. Kline writing in The Advocate:
What is less appreciated is what could be termed the collateral damage, including a growing mistrust of not just COVID-19 vaccines but of vaccination in general.
First, let’s address the 800-pound gorilla. The COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are remarkably safe and effective.
And…
“… how fragile these amazing medical advances are”
And finally, he goes with the ‘history doomed’ thing…
It has been said that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Sadly, in the case of routine childhood vaccination, forgetting history will translate to more preventable suffering and death. Let’s not add that to the already sad legacy of COVID-19.
Those are the only sort-of meaningful sentences in the entire piece - see for yourself.
Dr Kline holds highly respected positions in medicine:
But we’re left to ask: Why the tone, Dr Kline?
That nasty condescending tone…
How do they not see it in themselves?
“Twitter goofball whose expertise is probably limited to a barely passing grade in high school biology”
Expertism
(I’ve coined the word: Expertism)
Dr Kline’s tone: The very definition of Expertism
(As it turned out, a whole lot of Twitter goofballs got it just right!!)
Could he be right about vaccinations? Maybe. But he un-invites our trust with his condescension.
Let’s ask the question Dr Kline insists we not ask:
Should every healthy child be administered every vaccine?
Kline should seek a robust back and forth about the answer, but of course not.
As there would have been no better public health investment than widespread distribution of Vitamin D - and everyone in public health should be held accountable about this - I’ve asked Dr Kline to post us a link to any published article he wrote demanding widespread distribution of Vitamin D.
It was no unknowable secret that Vitamin D could save lives, especially to a man of Dr Kline’s accomplishment and standing. As he’s right now in the public square demanding lots of shots for every kid, was he in the public square demanding city officials distribute Vitamin D? If he wasn’t, he needed to be.
It’s a clear indicator of a doctor’s thinking.
I’ll be surprised to hear from him. We’ll see.

Interesting article, thanks for bringing it to our attention. Perhaps the answer to your question "Why the tone, Dr. Kline?" is as simple and straightforward as this: "Dr. Kline has been the recipient of more than $150 million in research and training grants from the U.S. National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention." -- U.S. News & World Report
