Jason Williams has me at something of a loss for words. And let me offer my mea culpa to BEC subscribers at the outset: I’ve been a bit slow to scrutinize the District Attorney.
Admittedly, though, I’m not a lawyer and I hesitate to criticize when I feel unqualified or potentially misinformed. Could I be getting Williams wrong? I would rather wait and be true than jump in and make a splash.
But the active change agent here is a gentleman named Blake Arcuri, former Orleans Parish prosecutor, whose perspective I trust and whose credibility is firm. As I wrote in the last piece on the DA, all credit to Blake Arcuri… as he educates me, he’ll educate you.
And now, thanks to Mr Arcuri, we can all be aware of yet one more offense to the community at the hands of our George Soros-backed District Attorney Jason Williams.
Nola.com/Times-Picayune wrote HERE about child rapist Juan Sacobean.
The summary: Juan Sacobean lured a young girl into his car as she walked to school, he raped her behind a gas station in Algiers, and then dropped her off at her elementary school after threatening to harm her family if she should speak of the event. Instead of jailing this creature for the remainder of his life, Jason Williams accepted a plea deal to second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. Sacobean was sentenced to 10 years, though he has already been in jail for five of those ten years. As the crime is considered “non-violent,” he will be released because offenders typically serve about one-third of their time for non-violent offenses. Williams says Sacobean will be deported back to his home nation of Guatemala…
For a crime deserving of the death sentence - two actually, because Sacobean raped the young girl on two occasions - he will do five years in jail and take a flight home.
But wait!
Jason Williams assured the people of New Orleans that he will not participate with deportations, remember?
From his campaign website, only three short years ago:
Jason challenged President Trump's horrific immigration policies making it clear that no New Orleans agency or officer would be allowed to participate in any ICE raids or initiatives.
New Orleans is a “sanctuary city.” Sacobean admitted guilt to a non-violent offense. The chance is very, very slim that he will actually be deported.
Juan Sacobean will be free to walk the streets of New Orleans. And Jason Williams will have enabled him.
Here’s Blake Arcuri…
“Unless someone violates policy, he goes free.”
The BEC will continue to serve our subscribers with scrutiny of this man’s doings…
