Three of the four teenagers who mercilessly murdered Linda Frickey have pleaded guilty this morning, today being the first day of their trial.
John Honore, 18, the ringleader of this pack of killers, was not part of the plea deal.
If social media reaction reflects the public mood, people are dissatisfied with this morning’s outcome, as they should be.
From Fox 8:
Three of the four teenagers involved in the death and carjacking of Linda Frickey over a year ago in Mid-City have pleaded guilty Monday (Nov. 20) to the charge of attempted manslaughter.
Monday was also scheduled to be day one of the trial.
Briniyah Baker, 17, Lenyra Theophile, 16, and Mar’Qel Curtis will be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Not included in the guilty pleas was 18-year-old John Honore.
All four teens had been charged as adults facing second-degree murder with the possibility of life in prison if convicted.
Frickey, 73, was a Westwego resident who died from blunt force injuries after she was carjacked on Bienville Street.

We are not surprised by this development, but it’s certainly disappointing.
A generation of sociopaths run our streets. Only a swift and severe example of justice might - might - improve conditions here. Threats of arrest and jail time have no impact on sociopaths, however.
While I would prefer a harsher treatment, I’d have been satisfied with an Asian-nation style of caning as a punishment. (I’m entirely serious about this.)
It’s a fair question to ask: Is jail ‘punishment’ for killer teenage sociopaths?
We think it’s not and only a true, real, severe pain-inducing. life-changing punishment will suffice.
A caning? How about a cat-o-nine tails complete with spikes and lead weights?
