The Left is Winning In The 'Culture Wars'

And we'd better start fighting back

The Left allows nothing to slip by them. Mean-spirited as they are, tightly held to their failed ideas, defenders of contradiction, they pounce, everywhere and all the time, on anything or anyone that might slow their advance, their lethal goals, their contradictory beliefs.

When they see a sliver of opportunity, they take immediate advantage of it. If they can create a perception of “injustice,” they’ll rally themselves and their troops. Get in their way and you’re a Nazi, a totalitarian, a bigot. And if any of those don’t fit, “fascist” is their go-to pejorative. Everybody’s a fascist!

The Left has planted their flag, the new flag of The New National Religion. Not merely the “gay” flag, no… this is the Queer Flag.

Things have become damned queer of late, who can deny it. And the Left won’t have it any other way. They put a pregnant man on the cover of a major magazine and we’re to just shut up and affirm “him.” Or are you a fascist and you don’t believe men get pregnant?

It really is “All The Same Fight” to them.

Which is why The BEC sounded the alarm about yesterday’s Naked Bike Ride through the French Quarter, on open streets, with a police escort, with official sanctioning by the City of New Orleans.

Because it’s one more battle to the Left, one more opportunity to win, one more way to dominate you and your voice and your family and your values. To them, it’s all the same fight. And you must shut up, stay out of the Quarter if you don’t like it - because the French Quarter doesn’t belong to you, too, does it? - go away and shove your face in your Bible and clutch your guns, you lizard-brained dinosaur.

And study the photo below… this is a book that, if you object to it being in the elementary school library, you believe in “book banning.” Because you’re a fascist:

The bastards have stolen everything! They’ve stolen decency. They’ve stolen the innocence of children. They’ve stolen pronouns and language. They’ve stolen our national symbols. They’ve even stolen the rainbow from us all… even rainbows.

I get it that it’s easy to accept that New Orleans tolerates more debauchery than anywhere else. We define “Mardi Gras” on the continent. But a once-a-year carnival that was always understood within a religious context - the day before Ash Wednesday and the season of Lenten repentance - has given way to a belief that any day - every day - can be Mardi Gras Day.

Particularly since 2007, the Left has won battle after battle, and they’re winning the war now. Perhaps they’ve already won it, and we can never go back to that ancient relic of a belief that: Only women get pregnant.

We were too late to get any traction in our effort to oppose city-sanctioned nudity on the streets of our most-visited neighborhood, but through this coming year we will seek meetings with city officials and will object to the Naked Bike Ride in anticipation of next year, the 16th annual bike ride.

Because whether we want to or not, we must begin to fight on their terms. We have to accept that, piece by piece, bit by bit, it is, indeed, “All The Same Fight.”

Give up anywhere, and the sliver of opportunity will be taken up in haste. And one more part of your life and mine goes very queer, indeed.
