Guns In Maine
The predictable cry of “GUN CONTROL” shrieks at full volume this morning after a man, suffering mental illness, brutally murdered dozens of people in small-town Maine last night.
The Left always freaks out about guns, but…
Maine law vigorously defends gun carry rights; the right to carry "shall not be questioned."
Leftists presume that when laws allow carry, that everyone DOES carry. Leftists also presume that when laws disallow carry, that everyone DOESN'T carry.
In truth:
When people feel secure, they aren't carrying - they don't need to - even if the law would allow it.
When people feel at risk, they carry - they need to - even if the law would disallow it.
Leftists foolishly believe that the number of guns in circulation is the motivating factor for mass shootings.
They disregard their own contributions to the Culture of Violence that is the upstream cause of these shootings.
Thin-thinking and lazy-minded Leftists cannot be allowed to ruin our culture further.
As much as I find Mike Johnson likeable and competent - I really like him - the incentives at work within the U.S. House have not changed by switching one Conservative out for another.
I offer this as a general caution: All people navigate life by an incentive/disincentive binary. Mike Johnson will very likely be a fine speaker, but don’t expect the output of the Congress to be much different moving forward simply because he’s now the Speaker.
