Rainbow Book Month

“A nationwide celebration of the authors and writings that reflect the lives and experiences of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual, genderqueer, queer, intersex, agender, and asexual community.”

“Pride Month displays and programming, as well as materials with LGBTQ+ characters and themes…” Though the librarians note the resistance to these materials in school libraries….

The Rainbow Library is a program that sends LGBTQ+ affirming text sets to schools across the country for free. ANY FULL-TIME STAFF MEMBER AT A KINDERGARTEN - 12th GRADE SCHOOL IS WELCOME TO REQUEST A RAINBOW LIBRARY:

They target children. They target the institutions that protect children and families. They are winning the many separate battles and the overall “Cultural War.”

Librarians in school libraries… in kindergarten school libraries.
