From the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office:
On December 2, 2023 the sheriff’s office responded to a call for service in a LaPlace neighborhood in reference to a report of a stolen vehicle. The owner of the vehicle stated that a female whom he just met stole his vehicle from his residence. Through the use of crime cameras, deputies were able to locate the vehicle at a gas station in Reserve, LA. The female found to be in possession of the stolen vehicle was identified as Cara Faile, 27, from North Carolina. While conducting the investigation for the stolen vehicle, deputies were notified that Faile was wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for the burglary and auto theft of the stolen SPCA vehicle. Faile was booked into St. John Correctional facility on the charge of Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony), Possession of Meth (Felony), and the Fugitive warrant for NOPD.
