With this coming Friday’s ‘defining moment’ in the struggle for climate justice, and the immediate drop in global temperatures as a consequence, I thought I’d offer you a big dose of plain facts about the weather and climate.
While Davante Lewis and HaSizzle run their fraudulent and manipulative schemes - not to mention their ridiculousness - reasonable and rational people are learning, not twerking.
It’s tempting to get caught up in the hype; the heat this summer seemed endless and nobody enjoys 100 degree days.
But are the hot days a product of climate? Or of weather? And could there not have been a hot summer even if the climate were not “changing”?
Steve Koonin - science advisor to the Obama Administration - is among the brightest minds on the planet, and here he’ll brilliantly present to you the status of “Climate Change,” which is very much a global industry as much as it is a global phenomenon.
First, a 30 minute recap by Ivor Cummins of Koonin’s full presentation at the Hoover Institute. Ivor’s video is only 10 minutes shorter than Koonin’s, which he references, but Ivor makes things fun.
Koonin’s Hoover Institution presentation to policy-makers, about 43 minutes:
And Steve Koonin sat with Peter Robinson for an episode of “Uncommon Knowledge” and affirmed two realities he sees in the data: that the planet has been warming (for the past 400 years) and that CO2 is exerting a slight warming influence on the planet, a consequence of human activities and burning fossil fuels.
Nobody can call Steve Koonin a “climate denier.”
But he also says this:
Enjoy this enlightening conversation with Dr Steven Koonin:
Koonin sticks with you when he reacts …
The statement was completely factual but factually incomplete in a way to alarm not to inform
If you’d like to hear other thoughtful scientists, this one’s great too!
