State Democrat Infighting Goes Public With Snarky Letter to Leadership
Calls for heads to roll - well, one
Meet Katie Bernhardt, the head of the Louisiana Democrat Party since 2020.
Katie’s a wife (to a Republican) and a mother to four kids. She’s an oil heiress (yep) and an attorney, too. She “leans conservative” on abortion but ultimately feels “sympathetic” to “choice.”
Realize that the meanest of the mean, the abortionists, are sympathetic to no one who is merely sympathetic to choice. Look how Democrat abortionists are turning on failed state treasurer Dustin Granger, reaching back to his earlier loss running for the state house:
The transgressive leftist Democrats in Louisiana loathe Katie Bernhardt, not only because she’s an oil heiress, not only because she’s married to a Republican, not only because she’s a mother to four children, but because she’s not been very good at one of her many jobs.
Bernhardt in 2020:
We have a lot of work to do, but we will see democrats getting elected from Haynesville to Grand Isle, from dog catcher to U.S. Senate under my leadership.
She’d not be scratching in the dog house if she’d gotten at least a few dog catchers into office, instead, despite her bold prediction, Bernhardt’s Louisiana looks like this:
And runoff election results look like this:
In fact, Bernhardt is so effective that Republican strategist and organizer Scott Presler can troll the Democrat Party about her:
Berhnardt’s critics have a great point…
The very day after the Democrat’s thorough statewide trouncing, Bernhardt took to social media to post this ridiculous seeming-parody self-own masterpiece, which I cannot get enough of, delicious as this tastes…
In a stunning display of cleverness, the Democrats scrambled the letters t-r-i-a-g-e c-e-n-t-e and r and out came “War Room!”
Davante’s Grudge
It’s no help to Bernhardt that the state party’s two “Rising Stars” - Davante Lewis and Mandie Landry - cannot stomach her.
“The Commish” holds a personal grudge against Bernhardt because, during his campaign for PSC, she endorsed the incumbent, Lambert Boissiere, and she’s been charged with redirecting utility industry campaign contributions away from Lewis toward Boissiere…
Bernhardt missed the memo that one is never, ever to offend the short, black, gay political nerd narcissist running against an incumbent Democrat.
Mandie’s Mania
District 91 state representative Mandie Landry blames Bernhardt for the mounting party losses…
… and no doubt seethes at Bernhardt’s “conservative” leanings toward women who don’t abort their babies.
Landry’s disdain for Bernhardt has been thoroughly covered:
So inflamed are the Democrats that today a post-election party-leadership email was released (as in “leaked”) onto Twitter by Aimee Robinson, of Lafayette, who sits on the party’s state central committee.
This insult of a poorly-written obnoxious letter from Bernhardt’s proxy went out the first work day after a 65-35 weekend throttling:
The Time Has Come To Move Forward Together!
The Louisiana Democrat Party vehicle will only move forward, leaving prior events in the rear view mirror.
As we move forward, we should all take a moment to look in the mirror and ask ourselves a few questions:
Did I do everything I could to help motivate, engage and encourage my community to vote?
As the leadership of the LDP (DPEC and DSCC) was I on the weekly strategy calls, did I participate in events, was I a part of the outreach efforts put in place by LDP?
The Louisiana Democratic Party isn’t dead in Louisiana and all isn’t lost. The media has tried to spin this narrative because division sells!
One of the major problems with the party is folks thinking that “one” individual is the party. That simply isn’t so.
Old fashion grassroots, inclusion, diversity and working together with a strategic plan is the start of a great future. The Leaders of the Party will need to re-imagine messaging and strategies to ride out to reboot the party structure and outreach. (sic)
The Democratic Party in Louisiana must have members that stand with “all” Democrats, not just the ones you may or may not individually approve of. Democratic Party leaders… should not be openly supporting republican candidates. (sic)
The letter is signed by “Your favorite dem girl, Alexia.”
Alexia Mays is the CEO of Mays Development Group, a research and public outreach PR firm based in New Orleans. And though they “Do Amaysing Things” this letter is not among them.
Aimee Robinson was having none of it and posted her ripping insulted reply:
Wow, I really cannot believe the audacity of this leadership. Well, not even this leadership, because Alexia, you are what? Another paid consultant? Making from my calculations from the FEC report just as much as MIA LaTanja.
Yes, I did everything I could do to engage my community to vote. Not that I owe you any answers, at all.
I didn’t participate in the calls because to be quite honest, I don’t think anything this particular leadership has done is effective and I guess my point has been proven right?
Make no mistake, we absolutely know that it is far more than one ineffective, incompetent person responsible.
You really must think we are all stupid.
Last of all, Katie, if you had any self-respect, you would resign.
And to this we at The BEC say…
Bring it on, Katie… and Mandie and Davante and Aimee and MIA LaTonja and all the press selling division. And keep it coming Cheeks, Collins-Greenup and Granger and Wilson.
You’re putting on a great show, and I’ve got more popcorn in the cabinet.
