Some Easing in Crime This Past Week
The Metropolitan Crime Commission keeps us all informed on crime stats
As of 12 February, some categories of crime are easing a bit. We can hope for more improvement; we also can wonder what’s bringing these improvements. We’ll take them as we get them!
Homicide victims: 33
Four homicide victims in the past week, four prior week.
In 2023, we have had one hit-and-run fatality and at least on negligent homicide, neither of which will be counted as murders.
Nonfatal shooting incidents: 54
Approximately 75 shooting victims.
Five nonfatal shooting incidents in the past week vs. ten prior week.
Carjacking incidents: 25
