Please Pardon Late Hour Notice: Submit Input to New Orleans City Council to Be Read Into Public Record During Public Input At Wednesday Morning's Meeting
the bec has learned only now about this process
The City Council has provided a form to be completed for public input, with comments linked directly to the resolutions above, to be referred to by their number.
The form can be accessed here and will look like this:
You’ll complete your name, address, and email address and then submit your comment by resolution number.
There is mention of a deadline of two hours before the meeting start (9:00 Wednesday morning is the start time) but this seems written unclearly… if in doubt, SUBMIT your comment!
We submitted comment on Resolution 5, regarding juvenile curfew and Resolution 6 about truancy and juvenile curfew. Only these resolutions have anything at all to do with parenting issues, so we took this as the opportunity to implore the City Council to target every city resource to the affirmation of fathers in the home, actively parenting their children under one roof along with the childrens’ mother. We emphasized that ABSENT FATHERS are the root cause of our crime. We acknowledged that short-term solutions are needed, but all policy action on the part of the City should focus openly and enthusiastically on fathers and their vital role in raising healthy, happy children.
Please consider submitting a comment which will be read into the public record.
