Members of The BEC Community, We Need To Reach Out to Treasurer Candidate Granger

Certainly, many of you remember the Solyndra debacle, the highly-touted “investment in the future” championed by President Barack Obama.
That failure has come to mind as only in the past few days, Silicon Valley Bank has gone belly-up. Along with their mission to fund tech start-ups, SVB also prioritized activist investing, pledging $5 billion in 2022 to “sustainable finance and carbon neutral operations to support a healthier planet.”
Failure is a common theme in socially-conscious Leftist investing.
Yet, this is the very sort of investing proposed by Treasurer Candidate Dustin Granger.
We at The BEC had been having some productive back-n-forth with Mr Granger through Twitter, though, rather suddenly, this past week Mr Granger stopped responding to our (very respectfully posed) questions.
Granger is enamored with ESG investing… see this from writer Shannon Heckt:
The Democrat wants to make changes by eliminating the ban on ESG investing.
“I think we shouldn’t have any bank bans with our financing because it’s costing us millions,” Granger said.
Environmental, Social and Governmental investing is when a company prioritizes investments into renewable energy or certain social policies. Treasurer John Schroder pulled $794 million of the state’s investments out of BlackRock Inc. for their push for ESG.
“I think it only hurts us because by banning ESG investments in clean energy investment, we’re missing out on a lot of opportunities for emerging industries to diversify our investments in our economy,” Granger said.
Should Granger be elected, expect him to point the state’s money directly at wind farms, solar panel farms, battery producers. Expect your money to go the way of Solyndra and Silicon Valley Bank.
Through Twitter, we have asked Mr. Granger to grant us a 30 minute phone interview. He has yet to respond.
We are asking all of you who are on Twitter to reach out to Mr. Granger and encourage him to grant the interview request.
If, in his position as State Treasurer, he invested only the money of the people who voted for him, he could ignore us. But instead, he’ll be investing everyone’s money, and everyone deserves a clear explanation of his plans.
His Twitter handle is: @GrangerForLA
