Posted Easter Sunday:
First we learn that “devout Catholic” President Joe Biden has declared Easter as “Trans Day of Visibility.” His defenders - including several prominent Republicans - say that “It’s not Easter he’s declaring, it’s the 31st of March.”
To that I’d respond that no matter the day, no matter the date, no matter the president, transgenderism is a mental disease to be treated, not an identity to be celebrated.
Then we learn that atheist Democrats live close to home, too, as Uptown State Representative Mandie Landry exploits the miracle of Easter and an image of Jesus Christ to mock Christ and attack her political opponents.
Do these people have any shame? Do they feel any sense of responsibility to anything or anyone? Do they honor any worthy history? Do they respect anything good? Or are they entirely consumed by demons?
Is it not crystal clear that mainstream Democrats are no longer reasonable people?
No… no, no, no… this cannot go on.
A follow-up for you, Easter Monday morning:
State Rep Mandie Landry sticks to her guns in the face of criticism, “doubling down” as the expression goes. Check out some of the exchanges on her Twitter page, where she originally posted the meme of Christ feeding the 5000…
Ms Landry offers a historical lesson in Christology:
Ms Landry self-identifies as Roman Catholic. IF she attends Mass, I must hope she is denied communion, as she is a lawyer who litigates on behalf of abortion clinics…
Let’s pause here a moment: Ms Landry equates tax-funded, government-administered food assistance programs with voluntary, private, local, selfless charitable works. In the first instance, your tax dollars are extracted from you and you have no input or consent about that; in the second instance you are doing what we are all called to do, which is to help one another. Democrats see no distinction between these, because, as one of their favorite bumper sticker lines goes, “The Government is Us!”
Let’s continue…
She won’t budge:
So let’s ask a basic question: Will Louisiana kids starve this summer because Jeff Landry refused one additional program that would have been added to existing food assistance programs, totaling about $1.17/day/child for 90 days?
This statement was issued out of the governor’s office:
Louisiana already administers robust social safety net programs including SNAP, TANF, FITAP, as well as the Child Nutrition Programs - including the USDA Summer Food Service Program, the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program, the Seamless Summer Option, and WIC. The year, the Summer Food Service Program will offer meals-to-go. Under these numerous programs, every child will be able to receive the meals they need throughout the summer.
Democrats and the media are playing this as “Landry Starves Poor Kids” …
The NOLA.com publication actually switched their headline about this after catching on-line flack. Notice the not-so-subtle difference between their first effort - and the impression it gives - and their second effort:
The governor “Stops Food Aid For Poor Kids”… see? He’s leaving poor kids to starve over the summer, because, as Democrats are fond of saying about Republicans and Conservatives…
The cruelty is the point.
It’s particularly maddening that Mandie Landry and every other Democrat and left-leaning media outlet in the state are mischaracterizing the governor, and also besmirching the Easter Miracle to score cheap political points.
If Mandie Landry were not already consumed by the demon of Progressive Socialism, she’d realize she took things too far… much too far indeed.
The BEC
Eventually, these people will reap what they sow.
