Judge Candidate Leon Roche to be Joined by Davante Lewis This Sunday In Three Hours of Pandering To Gay People Seeking Their Votes
The BEC delights in the thought of witnessing it and will be in attendance.
Got plans Sunday afternoon?
I sure do! And you should join me!
Leon Roche is running for judge after a career in criminal defense; he’s exactly the type of candidate who should not be elected… which is exactly why Davante Lewis supports him. And the two are holding an event together as part of Roche’s run for judgeship.
Lewis’ gayness was kept quiet during his campaign, yet, very literally the day after he won his race for his $2MM Golden Seat on the Public Service Commission, congratulations came pouring in for being the first openly gay person to sit on a statewide board.
To be clear: We have zero interest in whom Mr Lewis chooses to spend his time. About him being gay, we literally couldn’t care. It’s a non-issue to us, and our interest in Mr Lewis’ career is only and exclusively in his capacity as a Leftist/Transgressive member of the LA PSC. We care how he votes, we care that he’s actively working to destroy Louisiana’s oil and gas industry.
Yet…
This event is just too tantalizing to pass up! Three hours of pandering to people on the presumption that if they are gay they’ll prefer one judge over another. As if the blindfold of Lady Justice should be lifted for people of one sexual orientation but not another? As if Leon Roche will decide a case differently if the accused is gay or straight?
This event is not to be missed.
In a relatively long statement about his background and qualifications and about being a judge who will “give a voice to those who often times feel like their voice is not heard” - what does that even mean for a judge? - Leon Roche dedicates just a small part of one sentence to actually administering justice.
From his campaign website, there’s a brief reference to sentencing violent criminals:
“In addition, Roché will seek alternatives to incarceration for people suffering from mental illness, drug addiction, or veteran status; where possible. Mr. Roché is dedicated to helping those citizens that need help, with resources available to the court but he will also hold citizens accountable for their actions, especially those who commit crimes of violence. He is dedicated to helping the people of New Orleans and to providing the community with the justice we deserve.”
Ben Crump endorses Leon Roche:
We hope to see you all Thursday evening at 6:00 at Rock-n-Bowl for the Convention of States meeting and then again on Sunday for what will be a spectacle of an event hosted by everyone’s favorite member of the Public Service Commission.
