CVL7: Resources and References About Energy
Knowledge is key. And this post does double-duty as this week's Curated Viewing List, too!
Just one of our many goals here at The BEC is to provide essential information and resources to members of this community. There’s no substitute for knowledge and there’s no shortage of sources; the world’s brightest and most informed are at your fingertips. Sometimes the challenge is finding them and sorting out truth from troll.
What’s below is a (by definition incomplete) list of thoughtful individuals and groups doing excellent work in the energy sphere. Some you’ve heard mention of in these pages before; others will be new to you.
I encourage everyone to explore, listen, and read all you can about energy issues. Over coming years, we will be deluged with misinformation about “Green” energy, and the only remedy is knowledge.
The truth is that solar/wind/battery will be the ruin of the planet. These are not saviors; they are not remedies to the consequences of industrialization. They will layer ever-more heavy industry on top of earlier heavy industry. It all makes no sense.
We must resist the temptation to “go along to get along” and we have to fight the ubiquitous narrative that “Green” energy is any sort of solution at all.
Anthony Watts has been in the weather business for more than four decades and he runs the most viewed website on climate on the planet: WattsUpWithThat.com
Near and dear to my heart, the people behind StopTheseThings.com have little interest in debating wind energy. No, they’re not debating the issue; they hope to destroy the issue!
It’s past the time to debate the illogic of wind farms; we need to defeat them, thoroughly, and expose them as the ersatz systems and parasites that they are.
The great Alex Epstein has created EnergyTalkingPoints.com, a remarkable source of information about all things energy. Few are as articulate as Epstein and his two books have been central in my thinking about energy matters: “The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels” and “Fossil Future.”
Former Obama Administration official Steven Koonin, author of “Unsettled,” spoke with Jordan Peterson about his climate findings:
Bjorn Lomborg is an economist. His work is among the most rational, sane, and well-reasoned being done by anyone anywhere. Take some time and explore his thinking at Lomborg.com.
Michael Shellenberger’s popularity has only grown since he gave this TED Talk some years back:
“All the major problems with renewables aren’t technical, they’re natural.”
A few years back, Michael Moore angered the transgressive Leftists when he chose to executive produce “Planet of the Humans,” a documentary that exposes the fraudulent actors in this bogus movement. Granted, Gibbs himself is an anti-humanist and anti-capitalist, and in no way am I endorsing all of his views. But the film has shined a light on the hypocrisy of Big Renewable in a way that few others have had the courage to do.
Gibbs was interviewed recently by Robert Bryce:
The Power Hungry Podcast by Robert Bryce is always a reliable source for an inspiring conversation about energy, politics, and various issues that plague us. Bryce speaks with clarity and efficiency. I cannot recommend him more highly to you.
Jacki Daily is another podcaster who specializes in energy and the law, with a particular focus on Texas and this part of the country. Find her at: JackiDaily.com
I discovered BF Randall through Robert Bryce and, as with others, his work is top notch. He also exposed me to John Lee Pettimore. I’m honored to share the work of these remarkable men with you:
Find Pettimore on Twitter: @JohnLeePettim13
Find Randall on Twitter: @Mining_Atoms
Read Randall on Substack: BFRandall.substack.com
Two other very articulate thinkers I’d like to recommend on Twitter:
Brian Gitt is an energy investor: @BrianGitt
And Dr. Matthew M. Wielicki writes about weather and climate and is often posting on Twitter @MatthewWielicki and he writes on substack:
Friends, these should provide you with a great start in your own journey on energy information. It’s essential that we all educate ourselves as thoroughly as possible in regards to energy issues. People like Davante Lewis and Dustin Granger will be pounding the airwaves in this year’s political season with harmful misinformation that’s intended to confuse you. Remember: They do the bidding of Big Renewable (ironically owned by Big Oil, though they’ll never admit to that) and you must take everything they say with a grain of salt. Lewis and Granger are bad actors who cannot be trusted.
The answer to producing electricity is nuclear power. Not solar/wind/battery!
