The Metropolitan Crime Commission continues to serve the public with data regarding crime trends throughout New Orleans. The violence is unabated:
While increases in homicide and shootings take one’s breath, the combined 783 armed robberies and car jackings seem to inspire greater fear.
Having moved to New Orleans in 1989, we remember the years 1993 and ‘94. Averaging more than a murder a day is unlivable; we are returning to those levels and perceive very little cause for optimism.
The BEC extends our gratitude to The Metropolitan Crime Commission, whose website is found here.
Be safe everyone. Keep your head on a swivel and avoid any activity in places and at times that cause you to feel unsafe.
