Credit Where It's Due: Dustin Granger The Only Politician to Respond To The BEC About SMRs; Is Open To Learning More
NOT ONE REPUBLICAN has made a peep
Around these parts, we are committed to guiding principles before party affiliation; we are ‘equal opportunity’ in giving credit where it’s due, and this morning that credit belongs to the Democrat candidate for State Treasurer, Dustin Granger, who has responded generally positively to our work on Small Modular Reactors.
While Granger continues to attack the oil and gas industry (he would not approve of that characterization; he calls the move away from fossil fuels ‘inevitable,’ but there’s no reason for it to be) he is, evidently, open to energy production systems where they are a good fit with his guiding principles.
I don’t disagree with all your conclusions either. It’s simple though. A lot of money will be moving *away from positive emissions and a lot of investments and money will be moving *to negative emissions.
We encourage Mr. Granger to read up on SMRs. They’re coming. And as Louisiana is “an energy state,” let’s be the first state to build SMRs, get ahead of the curve, put our order in before the others, and produce non-emitting, clean, reliable, predictable, affordable energy!
Republicans: Where are you on this issue? And why has this substacker heard from the Democrat candidate before hearing from any of you?
We need to hear from Republican officials and candidates regarding SMRs.
