As You Plan Your Week, Please Join Us At the Capitol on Tuesday To Push House Bill 212 Through Committee
Sensible recall rules are upstream of every other issue, to the benefit of everyone!
Our friends at Home Defense Foundation, a group to whom we are all in debt whether we realize it or not, have issued a final reminder about Tuesday’s trip to Baton Rouge to force committee members to advance House Bill 212, which calls for sensible and proper rules for recalling failing politicians.
Friends, this is the elixir we need, the medicine that might help the most, among available options, in fixing the inadequacies of ‘democracy.’
Consider it critically: Do term limits help? Or do they merely allow an unscrupulous politician to vote any way he wishes in his ‘lame duck’ term with zero consequences?
Do protests help? No, not only because term-limited politicians can ignore protests and vote however they like, but only Democrats protest. Let’s be candid here. We Conservatives are loathe to marching the streets chanting seven syllable slogans written by sixth-graders.
But we vote, in great numbers. And we show up when it matters most, in the places where it counts, at the time that’s right to make our moves!
Please… join us in Baton Rouge Tuesday.
Here’s the gist from the founder of Home Defense Foundation along with links to other stories we’ve written about this very essential issue.
Yes, it’s that important. Join us…
We go to the State Legislature on Tuesday the 25th, and thanks to the generosity of Northshore Classic Firearms we will raffle off: 5 free shotguns, 5 free pistols, 5 free LaserTac Laser Sights - and 10 free Kool Karafe Instant Wine Chillers. A total of 25 FREE prizes.
This is the plan - both car pool and direct drive:
CAR POOL - Our car pool will meet at 6:30AM at Lee Michaels Jewelry at Lakeside Shopping Center on Causeway near 19th street. We will leave at 7AM, sharp. I will have printed directions ready for you.
If you get to Lee Michaels late just head to BR on your own and meet us there.
Park near the State Capitol Building and when you get inside ask one of the government staffers where the HOUSE Committee on Government Affairs is meeting. Get to that room by 9AM.
DRIVE YOURSELF - You can drive to BR on your own (bring friends) and just meet us there at 9AM. Wear a red shirt (I'll also have plenty of Red T Shirts).
NOTES:
To participate in the raffle you must meet us there at 9AM and sit with us, wearing a red shirt. I will have plenty of red T Shirts, but any red shirt that you own will do.
After we win the Committee Vote we will gather on the steps of the Capitol Building and hold the raffle. If you win a shotgun or pistol you will get directions on how to collect it. If you win a LaserTac Laser Sight or a Kool Karafe Wine Chiller you will get it on the spot.
This trip to the legislature might be the most important one we have ever made. That's how important this law, HB-212, is. We need to ABSOLUTELY fill the Committee Room with at least 50 - 75 people.
If you have never gone to BR with us to do this, COME ! ! ! It is a real education on how our laws are passed. It will open your eyes!
And what the heck, with 25 raffle prizes you have a good chance of winning one - and the whole experience is fun. I'll see you Tuesday at the car pool or at BR.
LET'S DO THIS ! !
